About Lake Zoar
Lake Zoar is a narrow reservoir on the Housatonic River between Stevenson Dam and Shepaug Dam in southwestern Connecticut. The lake winds through wooded hills and offers a quiet fishing experience despite its proximity to populated areas.
Walleye fishing has improved dramatically thanks to stocking efforts, with fish commonly caught in the 3-5 pound range. Largemouth and smallmouth bass occupy different zones based on bottom structure. Trout are stocked in the upper portions near river inflows. The state boat launch at Kettletown State Park provides the primary access.
