About Indian River Bay

Indian River Bay is a shallow coastal bay in southern Delaware connected to the Atlantic Ocean through Indian River Inlet. The bay's warm, shallow waters are among the most productive fishing grounds in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Flounder are the signature species, with the bay and inlet producing quality fish throughout summer. The Indian River Inlet jetties are legendary fishing spots for striped bass, bluefish, and flounder. The bay's grass flats hold weakfish, croaker, and small bluefish. Several public launches provide access throughout the bay.
