Lake Eufaula, also known as Walter F. George Reservoir, has earned the nickname "Bass Capital of the World" for its phenomenal largemouth bass fishing. This 45,200-acre reservoir on the Chattahoochee River features 640 miles of shoreline with vast expanses of aquatic vegetation, flooded timber, and creek channels that create some of the most productive bass habitat in the Southeast.

The lake's shallow, fertile waters produce impressive numbers of quality largemouth bass, and it has been a fixture on professional bass tournament circuits for decades. Hybrid striped bass add exciting open-water action, while crappie fishing is excellent in the lake's many brush-filled creek arms. Catfish and bream provide consistent catches for anglers of all skill levels.

The historic city of Eufaula, known for its antebellum architecture, serves as the lake's primary gateway with marinas, guide services, and Southern hospitality. Lakepoint State Park offers camping, a lodge, and boat launches. Abbeville provides access to the lake's southern reaches.
